For the first time this year, WINERY FÖRTHOF itself is organizing the highlight of each wine year . Until now, two partner wineries in Krems vinified the terraces owned by Erich Erber. With the founding of WINERY FÖRTHOF at the end of 2020 and the hiring of the managing director and cellar master, Annika Hoffmann, at the beginning of 2021, the basis for an independent winemaking business was created. "The grapes have developed very well. It is a real pleasure to go through the rows with the pruning shears. This will be an excellent vintage," says Hoffmann happily. Colleagues from other SAN Group companies also helped with the harvest. On two days, they were offered the chance to swap their office workstation for the vineyard. "It’s a lot of fun! Because of the terraced sites, you must pick everything by hand, but I come from a winemaking business, so I already know how to do it," laughs Martin Blauensteiner, Managing Director of SAN Real Immobilien GmbH, turning back to the vines. For others it was their first harvest experience. The unanimous tenor at the end of the harvest? "Next year, I'll certainly be there again. And of course, I'm already looking forward to the first taste of the 2021 vintage," says one of the hard-working helpers.
